Braided textile ropes emitting Electroluminescent light,
plated three
ropes to make a most interesting safety emergency or
decorative barrier
rope.
COLOURS:
red, blue, yellow, green, or white (or multicoloured).
Note: when using the rope with a sequencer it is best to
choose three colours:
one for each strand of rope,
the effect of movement for directional light is then achived.
Rope Length:
Plated |
5 meters to 10 meters |
Twisted |
5 meters to 25 meters |
Single ropes |
5 meters to 100 meters |
APPLICATIONS:
indoor, outdoor, water proof. Ropes can go under water
using special fibres to reject and resist alkalis,
acids and pest damage.
Can also be buoyant in water.

Frontier have developed a plated polyethylene fibre plated
rope with
a central Electroluminescent light core resulting
in a radiant glow with
a radial rope texture.
This rope is suitable for decorative features as well as
glowing safety
barrier applications. The rope can be fixed
direct, self supported or
suspended over long lengths. The polyethylene fibres reject dirt and algae
and are resistant to acids and alkalies.
Weather proof, stable to ultra
violet sunlight,
easily cleaned with high pressure water.
Impact resistant, electrically safe, cold light.
The ropes can be used for inside or
outside and underwater applications.
Various diameters can be supplied
depending upon the application.
Diameter, length, colours are to customers own specifications.
Frontier can supply almost any diameter of rope,
single ropes, braided
ropes to suit or twisted,
plated , tied in knots or multi
strand for decorative purposes as a display.
Is it insulated?
The light source is contained within a PVC
extrusion which normally has
another extrusion
over the top. This insulates the low
voltage making
it completely safe when
covered by the rope. The insulation breakdown
voltage is 4000 volts per IEC 335-1.
Will it withstand temperature?
The EL will burn at 850 degrees C,
but the rope will melt at 170 degrees C.
It is made to operate at temperatures
ranging from -20 to 55 degrees C.
How long does it last?
The EL light source has a half life which
depends on how it is powered.
At normal
operating conditions 120v and 400 Hz the
brightness will reduce to 50% after about
1000 hours and 30% after 3500 hours
of continuous use.
Can I use it for...?
EL ropes look stunning and the applications
are numerous. To get the right rope and light colour
effect for your ideas ask for advice, our technical
team will advise confidentially. This data applies to the blue
green type 02S BG. EL materials are under development
and specifications are likely to change.
